Information About Data Cleaning And Data Services
Different Types of Data Analysis
Data science and data analysis are two of the most sought-after fields to begin your career. Multiple sources of data are crucial for many companies. Sometimes the data sources can be stored in different formats or technologies. My company uses both SQL and NoSQL technologies, which makes it difficult to combine data sources.
What is Data Transformation?
Data transformation is a process where source data are reshaped and formatted to meet downstream requirements. Data transformation is also known as data engineering task or data governance task. It is usually found in pipelines that process raw data, such as extract, transform load, or extract, loads and transform (ETL/ELT).
Data transformation is the process of transforming data from its source. These are the steps of adding, deleting, formatting, and storing data. Software that creates data lakes or data warehouses can automate data transformation. Data scientists and data analysts will often have to perform manual data transformations on smaller scales to model the data in order to make data-driven decisions.
The explosion of “smart” devices, or Internet of Things (IoT), has triggered the age of big data. Data storage and processing efficiency are crucial in order to make data easier to analyze. By creating pipelines and processes to transform data, organizations can gain valuable insights.
To illustrate how data transformation occurs in ETL/ELT processes, we will use an example. Imagine you are an analyst for a company that stores structured data via rows and columns in one database and unstructured information via JSON or JSON in the other.
To be able to combine unstructured data with structured data, you must format it. It doesn’t matter whether your process is ETL or ELT-based. You must format unstructured data in order to merge it with structured data. Let’s now discuss data transformation.
What is Data Transformation?
Data transformation involves understanding the data, mapping it into a destination system, and then running the processes to transform it. Before performing data transformation, it is important to pre-process the data. Data pre-processing can include tasks like de-duplicating records or managing outliers. Preprocessing functions can be included in a data transformation pipeline.
