Information About Data Cleaning And Data Services

What Are Some Examples of Big Data?

A look at real-world examples is the best way to learn about big data and how it is used. We’ll be briefly discussing some of the major industries that are using big data, and how they do it.

Big Data in Healthcare

Medical devices, electronic medical records, clinical research, and medical imaging all collect huge amounts of big data. Big data and big analytics are changing the way that healthcare providers treat patients. There are many important applications: analyzing lifestyle, genetic and social factors to predict and prevent certain diseases; using data for highly personalized medication and treatment plans (precision medication); detecting medication errors, identifying potentially dangerous adverse effects; monitoring disease trends to help develop effective health strategies. Recent research has shown that governments and healthcare providers are exploring the possibility of a track-and trace system to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

Marketing and Advertising Big Data

A company’s knowledge about its customers is a key factor in tailoring their products and services to them. Big data analytics plays a significant role in marketing and advertising. Marketers and advertisers make use of big data to get a complete picture of their customers and their behavior, sometimes in real time. This allows them to identify when a customer is likely to “drop out” and offer them an incentive or offer at the right moment. Data also allows for better audience segmentation. Instead of offering one-size-fits all products or services, companies can customize almost everything to each individual. The most obvious example is the often-accurate advertisements that appear while scrolling through Instagram. Marketers can also use data analytics to manage their brand reputation and discover what people think about their products or services through sentiment analysis.

Big Data in Logistics, Travel and Transport

Consider how many times you use Google Maps or a similar app to help you navigate from A to B. Or how eagerly you track the package that you just purchased from Amazon. These are only a few of the many pieces of the big data puzzle that the travel industry has assembled. Big data can be used on a larger scale to predict and monitor traffic along busy routes, track goods in transit to ensure fast delivery times, and monitor weather conditions in real time to reduce risk (for plane travel, for instance). The development of self-driving cars will also be influenced by big data.

Big Data in Education

Education has been a standardized, one-size fits all approach for many years. With the advent of big data analytics and big data, educators can now tailor their education models and overall learning experiences to meet the needs of each student.

Northwest Database Services has 34+ years experience with all types of data services, including mail presorts, NCOA, and data deduplication. If your database systems are not returning poor data, it is definitely time for you to consult with a data services specialist. We have experience with large and small data sets. Often, data requires extensive manipulation to remove corrupt data and restore the database to proper functionality. Call us at (360)841-8168 for a consultation and get the process of data cleaning started as soon as possible.

City of St. Petersburg FL Information

St. Petersburg FL

Pinellas County in Florida is home to St. Petersburg. The city is often called St. Pete by locals. After a vote of its residents, neighboring St. Pete Beach was formally abbreviated in 1994. St. Petersburg has a mayor and a city council.

History

In June 1903, St. Petersburg became a city. This transition saw the construction of the downtown waterfront. The dredging of a wider shipping channel was completed from 1906 to 1908, which allowed St. Petersburg to receive larger ships. Through the 1910s, further dredging enhanced the port facilities. The city’s population had quadrupled by then to 4,127 people. F. A. Davis was the one who brought about the first trolley service in 1904.

Climate

St. Petersburg enjoys a subtropical humid climate that has some characteristics of a tropical monsoon environment. There is a defined rainy period from June to September. Due to the maritime influence of Tampa Bay and the Gulf of Mexico, many parts of St. Petersburg have tropical microclimates.

Demographics

According to the 2010 census, St. Petersburg had 244,769 inhabitants. This makes it the largest city of Pinellas County with 129,401 households. The population density was 3,964.4 people per square mile (1.530.7/km2).

Transportation

The city is connected by causeways and bridges that cross Tampa Bay to the east, and Bradenton to the south by Interstate 275’s Sunshine Skyway Bridge (Interstate 275), and traverses the bay to the mouth.

Top Businesses

The Gateway area is home to a lot of economic activity. It overlaps Pinellas Park and St. Petersburg. Median household income is $55,134. The largest industries are health care, professional services, and retail. St. Petersburg has three main jobs: Sales, Management, Office and Administrative Support, and Sales.
