There Are Two Types Of Outliers

• Contextual outliers, also known as conditional or outliers, are values that significantly differ from the rest of data points in the same context. This means that a value that occurred in a different context may not be considered outlier. This category is often found in time series data.
• Collective outliers can be described as a subset or group of data points that is completely different from the whole dataset.

How Can Outliers Get Into Datasets?

Here are some common reasons for outliers in data:

• Intentional errors such as dummy-outliers in a dataset used to test detection methods
• Sampling errors are caused by the extraction or mixing of data from incorrect or multiple sources
• Data processing errors can result from data manipulation or unintended modifications to a dataset.
• Instrumental error can cause measurement errors
• Experiment planning and execution errors can result from data extraction or experiment planning.
• Natural outliers are those that occur naturally in the data, and not because of any error. These errors are called novelties.

How Do You Spot Outliers?

It is possible to spot outliers in small datasets. For example, if you have 28 26, 21, 24, and 78 data sets, you can see that the outlier is 78. However, when dealing with large datasets or big-data, additional tools are needed.

History

The earliest settlers in the Hillsboro area were the Atfalati, who used to gather around Chatakuin to arrange transactions, settle disputes, and discuss community affairs. In the late 1830s, the first Americans and Europeans arrive in the area. It led to a surge in the population and started the growth that we see today.
A farmer, David Hill, set up the area’s first post office in 1843, naming it “Columbus.” In 1849, Washington County was created, and Columbus was named the county seat. When Hill died in 1850, the new township was renamed Hillsborough in his honor.
In 1865, steamboat services started to the town was started that allow passengers and mail service to the town. It also made trading of agricultural products easy. After the Willamette Valley Railroad was set up in 1872, new businesses such as cereal mills, sawmills, and other food processing businesses started to develop in the area. Hillsborough was officially incorporated in 1876.
The town was renamed Hillsboro somewhere between 1890 and 1910. The population of the town doubled during this time. It was also when a new sanitary sewer was set up, phone service increased, streets were paved, and the first library was set up. After World War II, the population in the area increased further.

The climate of Hillsboro, OR, is warm and temperate. You can expect more rainfall during the winter than in the summer. The average annual temperature is around 52.3°F. The city receives about 50.6 inches of rainfall every year. The best months of the year to visit Hillsboro are June, July, August, and September, when you can experience pleasant weather.
